What
exactly is a
Domain Name?
When someone creates a website and uploads it to
a hosting server, making it available for the
world to see, that website is assigned a numeric
address which is called an IP Address. It would
look something like this: 208.106.200.173
For an internet visitor to view your website,
they would have to type in the web address into
their browser address bar like this:
http://208.106.200.173
Can you image trying to have people remember all
those numbers and that is just one website.
Therefore you can register a Domain Name, such
as YourWebsite.com and your hosting
provider makes sure that when that domain name
is typed into a browser address bar, the web
visitor is brought to YOUR website that is
located at the address 208.106.200.173
If you were to sell that domain name, it is
transferred into the name of the new owner and
their hosting provider will make that domain
name go to the new owners IP Address.

SC - Source Code / Source Document Let's say you purchase an eBook in Adobe PDF
form. Normally, you cannot change a PDF file.
But if the product you buy comes with the Source
Document, then you will also receive the
document in an editable for so you can make
changes to the document and THEN sell it.
SG - Source
Graphics If you get images, they are normally in the
file format of JPeg (.jpg), or GIF (.gif)
If the image has many different elements such as
some text, and image and shapes, it is nearly
impossible to edit that image. When you receive
the Source Graphic, you get a format where all
of the elements are on different layers and
therefore you can open just the layer you want
to edit and change it.
Example: Let's
say you get the DNFlippers Logo:
The word
dnflippers.com has a grey drop shadow and a
reflective image below it. If this is a jpg or
gif, it would be very difficult to remove the
shadow without erasing some other parts of the
image.
But on the
Source Graphic, the shadow is on it's own layer
and you can simply delete THAT layer and the
shadow is gone.
